Technical Preparation Guide

Lenticular printing technology requires a different preparation process than standard printing. To get the best results, we recommend preparing your graphic design files according to the following criteria.

Resolution and DPI

Minimum 300 DPI (preferably 600 DPI) should be used to avoid loss of detail in lenticular printing.

Color Space (CMYK)

All work must be prepared in CMYK mode. RGB work may cause color deviations in printing.

Bleed

At least 3mm bleed should be left from each edge to avoid white edges after cutting.

File Formats

PSD (Layered), AI, PDF, or TIFF formats are accepted. Layers must be separated for 3D effects.

Preparation for 3D Effect

  • Layered Structure: Background, middle ground, and foreground objects must be on separate layers.
  • Clarity: Parts of background objects hidden behind foreground objects must be completed with 'content-aware'.

Preparation for Flip Effect

  • Contrast is Important: The higher the color contrast between the two images, the lower the risk of 'ghosting'.
  • Alignment: Ensure both changing images are centered within the same frame.

Frequently Asked Technical Questions

Which LPI Lens Should I Use?

For promotional products, 75 LPI or 100 LPI is usually preferred, while for large posters, 20 LPI or 40 LPI is more suitable. Our technical team will suggest the most suitable lens for your project.

Should I Work Horizontal or Vertical?

For flip effects, vertical work (lenses are vertical) is usually preferred, so the image changes when looking left and right.

How Should Font Selection Be?

Very thin and small fonts may break on lenticular. Thicker (bold) and minimum 10pt fonts are recommended for readability.
